Thanks for your prayers for our Assembly Team which delivered 31 Christmas assemblies in local primary schools. On two dates they visited three different schools on the same day. A fantastic way to tell the 95% of children who don't attend church about the great news of God's love!
We welcomed guests of honour Cllr Beryl Hunwicks, Mayor of Woking, and Right Revd Dr Jo Bailey Wells, Bishop of Dorking, to our pre-Christmas lunchtime celebration for our volunteers and schools workers, and also for representatives of local churches which support our work.
Cllr Hunwicks stressed the importance of her own Christian faith in enabling her to perform her duties.
She recalled that she had herself served for several years as a trustee of Engage. “My job as mayor makes me excited - and I’m excited about Engage!

As we approach and prepare for Easter, we'd be grateful for your prayers for the schools and students, and our workers and volunteers. Our Easter 2019 presentation for primary schools is a story of three trees. One becomes a manger, which we link back to the baby God sent. The second tree leads us through to the boat from which Jesus taught the crowds and calmed the storm. The third links to the cross. Please pray for the team as they prepare and deliver this assembly in 30 local schools. The schedule of dates and schools is on the Primary Schools page: CLICK HERE to go there.
The autumn 2018 issue of our newsletter, Engagement, has been distributed to local churches and prayer supporters. Articles include reaching the 95% of children who don't go to church, Engage's Christmas assemblies and "Meet Tracy - our new Schools Worker".
If you can't wait to read a paper copy, click below to download and read it now.
Please use the topics in our new prayer card in your prayers: pray for everyone involved in Christian work in local schools, for the young people and their teachers, and for our schools workers and the many volunteers. And give thanks for the opportunities we enjoy in so many schools.
